Put An Exercise Bike Into Your Exercise Program
|
you noticed your clothes are starting to feel a bit tight? Perhaps you are having a harder time reaching down to tie your shoes. Maybe you just feel like you want to get into better shape. A healthy and sensible diet will go along way to getting you where you want to be, but without some sort of physical activity, you probably won't lose the weight you want. Here is where an exercise program comes in. If you were to check out your local fitness club, you'd no doubt find they have many and various exercise programs available. Most gyms have aerobic exercise classes, spinning classes, pilates, etc. But what do you do if you're not interested in a bunch of classes? Or what if you just don't have the time to spare for a club. There are ways to get plenty of physical activity at home. Today's Exercise Bikes One of the best ways to exercise at home is to build an exercise program around a exercise bike. Todays exercise bikes are a far cry from the clothes racks of years ago. Modern bikes are magnetically controlled, silent running, and very user friendly. There is an exercise bike available for just about any body. Whether you have back problems, knee problems, are obese, or just get bored easily, you can find the bike for you. A Good All-Around Workout An exercise program utilizing an exercise bike is a great aerobic exercise as well as a great cardio workout. A bike will strengthen your leg and thigh muscles, including the hamstring. The improvement in the condition of these muscles will help keep the body in good alignment by aligning the pelvis while preventing hyper extension of the back. If you find your back simply can't take riding an upright exercise bike, try a recumbent. This type of bike puts the rider in a reclined position, and the rider sits in a bigger seat with lower back support. Many people that could not have worked out otherwise find they can on a recumbent bike. In addition to the physical benefits you receive on a fitness bike, you can expect to gain mental health too. It is well documented that a person that engages in plenty of physical activity lives a happier life due to the release of endorphins, the body's "happy hormones". Exercise Bikes Don't Equal Boring Today's exercise bikes are whisper quiet, allowing the rider to watch TV, listen to the radio, or other diversions. In addition, most bikes have programs built in that take the rider through courses including hills, sprints, and other riding conditions. This helps keep the boredom factor down. If you find yourself needing a little exercise, but can't afford the time or money to join a fitness club, try a exercise bike. The level of physical activity you will receive coupled with a sensible eating plan will have you reaching your fitness goals in no time. |
